Swiss Finance Institute / Banque Privée Espírito Santo Prize

Wishing to underscore its support to financial research, Banque Privée Espírito Santo is offering a prize for outstanding research work conducted within the Swiss Finance Institute by a PhD student, faculty researcher, or research team. The annual prize was launched in 2008 for a minimum of three years and totals CHF 20'000.

Individuals or teams of researchers may submit their own proposals or nominate research contributions authored by colleagues or students.

The Jury is composed of at least two representatives of the Banque Privée Espírito Santo and one representative from each of SFI's three regional centers. The Jury may solicit the advice of one or more outside experts.

The prize will be attributed on the basis of the following non-exclusive criteria:

  • The personal merits of the researcher or the team of researchers.
  • The relevance of the research contribution for Portuguese speaking country / economy or for small economy (such as Portugal).
  • The relevance of the research contribution for family/unlisted firms operating in the financial sector (such as Banque Privée Espírito Santo).
  • The relevance of the research contribution for the activities of the Group Espírito Santo (www.Espiritosanto.com).
  • Other insights that are called to the attention of the Jury by the nominating party.
