Course Structure and Learning Methodology
The Geneva Executive Courses in Finance are a world-famous series of highly focused events on topical areas of banking and finance. Their range and content are continually updated in line with the latest trends and developments in global financial markets, and the program now has a consistently successful history stretching back over more than twenty-five years.

Format
In 2010, the course program offers 10 different courses, which can be taken either individually or in combination. The Geneva Executive Courses in Finance last 3-5 days and are conducted in smalls groups.

Teaching Methods
The courses are thoroughly international in its coverage of methods, financial instruments and markets, and its choice of faculty, guest speakers and participants. The development of individual skills and decision-making capacity is emphasized throughout. To this end, the fundamentals and theory presented by the faculty are applied systematically to actual business situations through practical problem-solving sessions, case studies and simulation exercises carried out in small working groups.

Careful selection of participants and limited attendance promote an active exchange of ideas with the faculty and provide participants with a unique opportunity to meet and work with colleagues from a wide variety of financial institutions and countries. The majority of courses, moreover, provide opportunities for direct contact and interaction with invited market experts and specialists.

Faculty
The faculty members have been chosen for their demonstrated ability to conduct executive training, as well as for their recognized expertise in their respective fields. They are drawn from leading academic institutions in Europe and the United States as well as from the private sector. Bibliographical summaries are given within the respective course descriptions, and full bibliographical references can be obtained on request.

Language of Instruction
The working language is English. An adequate knowledge of the English language is therefore required of all participants.

Work Schedule
A typical daily schedule includes morning sessions starting at 9:00 a.m. devoted to lectures, and afternoon sessions with further lectures, work on cases, computer applications, and guest presentations, ending at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The evenings are free for individual reading or preparation of case studies.

Location
All courses are held in Geneva, with one exception, the course on Fundamentals of Finance and Investments (Lausanne, July 19-23, 2010)  that also serves as an optional introductory module for the Financial Asset Management and Engineering Program (FAME).
