Topic: Rationality and Emotions in Financial Decisions
The presentation will discuss the following issues: (1) How do behavioral biases lead us to make wrong financial decisions? (2) How overconfidence affects our financial decisions. (3) Why herd behavior and is driven by the fear of regret. (4) Why are we reluctant to sell an asset traded at a loss relative to the price it was purchased.

12.11.2015 Swiss Finance Institute has attributed its Outstanding Paper Award to “The Impact of Treasury Supply on Financial Sector Lending and Stability”, a research paper by Arvind Krishnamurthy of Stanford University and Annette Vissing-Jorgensen of the University of California Berkeley that studies how government debt crowds out financial sector short-term debt.
